My Admiral f/f has finally given up the ghost after a number of repairs to the freezer , so we have ordered a new one , is there any way I can isolate the now defunct freezer part and use just the fridge on its own. Many thanx

The fridge draws cold air from the freezer, there’s only one refrigerant system for both.

Ah I see , is that why when my freezer wasn’t working properly the fridge seemed cooler

Over the last few years there have been a number of problems had two new control boards fitted , numerous problems with the unit at the back of the freezer behind the panel(cant remember what it is called, looks like a radiator}freezing up, causing the alarm to go off , I have just been stripping the freezer down , defrosting it then it would work for a month or so , now just lasting a week , had various quotes for repairing , but to be honest just fed up with it

Then that’s a simple repair. a defrost heater.
Would I choose between the majority of side by sides and repairing yours then yours would win hands down.

Thanx for the reply , but in the 6 years we have had it , it has had at least one repair a year , which for what is supposed to be a high end F/F is not good, and currently that fault is there as is a clicking noise that no one can cure and the ice maker isn’t working , we just feel we are throwing money at it , the fault was actually diagnosed as a circuit board by a local engineer, so as my OP I was wanting to keep it in the garage as a fridge , well actually an wine cooler , but I understand this is not possible.
