    Hi

This is a four in line ceramic hob. From the left, number two was on. Burning smell for a few secs and then MCB tripped (and would not reset, even with hob isolator off).

Investigation showed burned mains terminal in hob. Replaced mains terminal.

Now both RHS elements work but LHS ones don’t, however there is an audible click as they are switched on (relay), and there’s continuity across both elements.

Thinking it may be PCB damage on the switched side of relays, but no visual clues on board. Trouble is, QER don’t list this one, and new replacement is mega bucks.

    Any thoughts much appreciated.

if you are getting a click as you turn those rings on you need to check if the relays are actually closing

trace ring back to board and find out which relays control it. also check if there is a seperation on the board for left and right pair as there may be a master relay for the left side

you could post pictures of board but cant promise to see anything

    just thoughts out my head

If you replaced the terminal block, and only half the rings work, I would check that the links in the t/block are in there correct position ??
