I always have a quick check of the door lock wiring when i go to any machine now , seen to many of them go the terminals on the plug are to week in my opinion.
Yeah, i’ve had quite a few of these go like this so far this year. Its the first thing I look for now with a burning smell. I always swap the loom instead of rewiring and never been back to one.
Some early connectors only had one set of pins in each one. Considering the whole motor circuit is wired through the door lock it was not up to the job.
I believe now their are 2 sets of pins in each one to provide better contact.
I generally cut the plug off and fit spade connectors and a new lock.
