Had two of these lately where the motor won’t turn. I checked the Dc motor module and a track had blown. Repair track on pcb and drum started to turn for a split second and then the track popped again.

Personally I think it’s the tacho on the motor.

    Any advice please.

Tacho should be a LV circuit Mike as it only reads the frequency of the motor so it shouldn’t be able to take a track out, only a dead short somewhere would be able to do that usually.

Tacho generates voltage but only small amount as kwatt says lv. as magnet spins north /south pcb then measures the voltage to determine the speed but it does not produce much current so i can’t see it blowing the track. I would look towards the motor coil and drop your insulation tester across it on its highest setting see what you get, if nothing shows try it and spin the drum by hand as your testing it to see if it throws up anything might be you have a weak spot on your motor
