Sounds like ambient temp problem to me.

Light on dim is normal,if appliance is pcb controlled then it will come on automatically. If mech stat type then there is a s/w on the stat housing to turn summer/winter on or off.

No not really. If it’s in a garage or some other kind of cold room then the light comes on half power to try and warm the ntc.

But if the room is too cold then motor wont run, hence stuff in freezer starts to defrost.

It will tell you at the start of the manual what ambient the appliance is suitable for.

If you turn the power off and back on again does it run?.If so does it then stop completely again after a few hours?.

If so then it’s the foamed in sensor on the back wall, which is not replacable. However there is a by-pass kit available.

    Hope this helps

Well then it’s either ambient temp.pcb or motor.

    Enjoy.

    Re: bosch kgv2604g

I’m not sure if leaving this off for half an hour is long enough to bring it back on. I had one of these in a basement that I thought was a low ambient problem but the mod bypassing the fridge thermistor cured it. I don’t recollect the interior light being on though. You don’t have to buy the mod kit; you can re-connect a couple of the wires behind the pcb using those blue insulated cable splice fittings but I can’t find my note of how to do it. I can prob find out though if you need to know.

    Machineman,

First identify the sensor leads on the module, usually either a three pin or a four pin connector.

If four pin, locate the twin cable connected to terminal 1 & 3 cut off sensor cable about 2in from module and join together effectivly shorting out terminals 1 & 3 on the module connector.

If three pin locate sensor lead connected to terminals 1 & 2 and do as above. TAKE CARE to not disturb the other sensor lead which is also connected to terminal 1.

Terminal numbers are moulded into the white moulding of the connector plug.

    Regards
