Ive had the LG F1403RD from new about 30 month and its just started making a shocking noise when on spin.

I’ve levelled it up perfect but still makes this bad noise . I took a video ;-

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBA8Gv1b … e=youtu.be

the video doesn’t do it justice , it’s actually alot worse than it sounds when live !.

About a week back , when opening the door to empty it I found a large brown elastic band type thing hanging down between the drum and the large grey rubber seal. It snapped away into 2 pieces but for the love of me I cant find were its come from

Does anyone know why its making such a bad noise ? I use to be able to set it to wash through the night but its that noisey we can here it upstairs.

I’m more than willing to sort the matter out myself if it’s a case of a simple part replacement or screw down something loose so any help would be greatly appreciated .

I have to confess to trying to repair the rubber outlet drainage pipe a couple of weeks ago .While trying to level the washer up I dragged it out and the plastic drainage hose took a tiny nick in it leaking water onto the floor when draining (the rubber protector that protects the house from the sharp metal of the washer had come loose.

I did flip the washer on its side thinking I could access the hose from underneath but it was then I realized to change the hose meant a strip down so I fixed the nick with a soldering iron melting the hole and sealing it.
so could me flipping it on its side cause the washer to become unbalanced ?

Can’t rule it out but you stated earlier that it was level. The video didn’t indicate vibration either as the machines cabinet appeared perfectly stable. The noise sounded more like ball race bearings grinding TBH.

please stop using your appliance as more damage will be done, the fault is the dryer housing has broken away from the tub assembly, it may be repairable without parts if has just started to be noisy.

it all depends if the bolts and screws have just come loose or are the mounting luggs broken off.

I dont know how to take that wether its a sarky remark or your in a similar boat as myself.
I’ve not a clue taking a washer apart hence why I asked. I asked just incase there’s hidden plastics clips and you end up tugging away not knowing till you snap them off. If it’s a case of a simple few screws then fine but I thought I’d just make sure.

to be honest silverdale if you cannot revove the top of the machine i would call in the local repair agent as the repair is not as easy as you think.

lol , like it Bob ,

I took the top off and you were bang on bob. Were the large housing for the dryer outlet is sat 3 screws had come loose. I found 2 of them in the washer which I retrieved with a long reach magnet. I found a similar one in the tool box but this time I used nylon and split washers to stop them coming loose.

Just tried the washer and it’s sounding far far better , purs like a ,,,,,,, er,, washer.
thanks for the advise Bob , much appreciated.
