The thermal fuse on my TV630 dryer has blown which I only discovered after reading all the previous posts concerning problems with this tumble dryer regarding no heat/ filtercare light, etc. I have removed the thermal fuse to see the markings on the body of the fuse (microscopic indeed!) which are as follows :-

    MICROTEMP
    KLHBDD
    G5A01
    TF 216C

The markings aren’t crystal clear, but the one that concerns me is the temperature rating which would seem to suggest it operates up to 216 degrees C. Surely the unit would be well and truly ablaze by the time it reached this temperature. Has anybody else got a blown fuse to hand to verify these markings/confirm that this is the correct rating?. These single use/non-self resetting thermal fuses can be sourced though RS (approx. 50p each) but there are a host of temperature ratings from 73C to 240C. Thanks for taking the time to read this post.

    Cheers.

Yes it is a ‘Microtemp Fuseable Link’ rated at 216 degs C. It usually blows as a result of turning the machine off prematurely without allowing the cycle to complete the much needed 10 minute ‘cool down’ final stage.

Thanks for the quick reply. Seems I need to re-educate the ‘missus and kids’ on the basics of tumble dryers … keep them well away from it !!!!
