ParticipantHi.
I have a Zanussi ZDC 47200W condenser tumble drier.
I noticed recently that the drying cycle appears to have stopped in my absence and the clothes are quite dry, however there is no water in the tank.
I removed the tank and looked into the void and there was a spring and a short length of plastic tube lying in the drip tray. I presume I just re-install these but it’s not clear which way round the short plastic tube should go. One end is blank with two slots in the sides, the other end is open. Which way should it be installed? Also, there appears to be nothing securing the spring in place and it can be dislodged every the time the tank is removed. Is there something missing? There is nothing clogging or blocking any openings.
I also read in other threads that there may be a float chamber somewhere? How do I locate this and check that it’s not clogged up?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

It could be blocked down at the condenser itself, makes sure that’s completely clean and clear.
But, if you have the PNC off the rating plate any of us will be able to look up the machine and see what’s in it.

Thanks for the reply!
I’ve cleaned the condenser out so it’s ok.
The PNC is 916094547
The Serial No. is 13835750
I’ve attached photos of the tank assembly. Does that look right?
There appears to be nothing that prevents the spring coming out every time you empty the tank?
Also, it beats me how it knows the tank is full?

The valve has sprung apart as the small “o” seal has worn off the back of it causing the rest of it to spring out when you last removed the tank.

Thanks for that!
That makes sense as I couldn’t see how it would work with the parts that are there.
I had a look in the store on this site but couldn’t see anything that looked the right part.
I’ve found that you can buy the valve but that only comprises the piece on the right of the picture above, and the spring can be bought separately too.
Can you advise what it is I need to buy to fix it?
Would it be this?
or this

Brilliant! Thanks very much for your help. Much appreciated. 😀
Just out of interest, how does it tell when the tank is full?
