ParticipantHi, our Candy CD622 is not washing properly. It no longer makes the same sound of water spraying about as powerfully as before. I have checked the spray arms, filter & even had a look underneath at the motor for signs of burning etc. The motor does seem to be covered in a fine white dust which I think is from the built in fan rubbing slightly on another part. Can these motors still work but lose power?
We dont want to buy a new motor at £100 or so unless Im sure that is the problem! Oh, & there is also a burning smell while it is running although as I say, there is no obvious signs of burning to any of the components under the machine!
thanks in advance!February 9, 2014 at 3:43 pm #409290Andy jones

how certain are you tho? Im guessing it cant really be anything else but I would have thought the motor would either run or not run?

Well I can’t be certain having not seen it but if you checked spray arms etc there not much left. How much water is getting into the dishwasher

plenty water getting in & its heating up fine & pumping out again ok. It seems to run thru its cycle same a s before just not washing as well!
Have you ever heard of these pumps losing power but still running?
Ive not removed it to check the impeller but if that is worn then Id guess it would be best to replace complete pump unit anyway?
I think its about 10 years old now so thats why we dont really want to splash ( ha ha) out £100 for a pump on off chance!
Im sure we can buy a complete new machine for not much more than double that?February 9, 2014 at 4:14 pm #409294Andy jones
