    Hi,

I’m struggling to find shock absorbers for an ISE AW23.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or tell me what manufacturers components the AW23 uses?

    Many Thanks 😀

We’ve never been asked for them out of warranty apparently.

A quick mail to Dave on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get them listed in the store for you. From memory they are a stock item.

I have changed a few, only the left hand side ones (from the front) though. Usually due to a leak from the dispenser hose. The single side suspension unit is different to the double side ones.

    Thanks for your help guys.

It is indeed the single side LHS shock absorber – previous leak from dispenser hose – drum was rubbing on hose due to weak shock absorber.

I’ve checked the part number on the unit:

    8029504 LHS shock absorber
    8037285 Suspension shaft

Unfortunately, looks like they’re not in stock in your store – delivery 15 to 25 days.

It’s actually caused by the small spring, top rear of drum being too short. You should try and stretch this spring a little to prevent drum rubbing against the hose. 😉

If the shock absorber was weak the drum would sit lower and not come into contact with the hose at all.

Thanks for the tip re the spring length.

The whole drum is sitting to the left and slightly to the rear of machine and one of the lugs on the drum is rubbing on the filler hose.

Shock absorber insert now extremely worn and spring weak/noisy.

It’s a chicken and egg situation, the short spring causes the drum to rub on the hose, the resultant leak damages the suspension.

Yes, chicken/egg scenario – and a design flaw. A bit annoying when these things occur.

And the parts are “Amica” – can I gather from this that the AW23 is a re-badged Amica machine?
