ParticipantHi guys,
I have done some research on this which led me to de-icing behind the panel in the fridge.
Left it off over night also.
It’s still buzzing loudly and not getting down to temp. It was on 15 degrees on both sides. Been on two hours and maintaining 7 freezer 10 fridge.
Can anyone suggest some ideas as to where I can go next with it please?
Thanks in advance

It’s now gone completely silent and not cooling at all.
Electrics are still on but no cooling?
Any thoughts anyone?!?

It would need a longer defrost 48 hours with the doors open.
For now turn it off for 15 mins then turn it back on and see if it resets itself and starts working.
When you turn it back on it may take ten minutes to start up.
If it starts working again after you have reset it then carry out a full defrost as soon as possible.
Turn it off for 48 hours with the doors open for a full defrost.

Hi bob. Thanks for the reply. It does come back on and the loud buzzing was back. Turned it off again.
It’s been off since this morning so will keep it off till Sunday evening/Monday morning and see how we go.
Did call the engineer up I know and he is coming Monday, just be nice to be clued up before he suggests compressors etc.

The possible fault without testing.
It may need a new rear panel in the fridge compartment.
If the noise you hear is gone on Monday when you turn it back on.
It is the fan iceing up in the fridge causing the noise, and the insulation on the rear panel will be faulty allowing the fan to ice up.

Hi bob,
Turned it back on this morning.
It turns on, display comes on and I can hear it very faintly but it does not ‘fire’ up and get cold. Hmmmm
What do you think?
Thanks againSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

It is hard to diagnose the fault you have without being able to test it as this is not a common fault on this model.
It may be a compressor or main PCB fault.

Well, had the guy out this morning and he diagnosed to compressor as was clicking away but not firing.
Changed compressor and gas etc.
been 4 hours since he gone, fridge nice and cold but freezer is 17 degrees and no sign of getting cold.
Any thoughts??

Just to update invade it helps anyone else:
All seems ok, too 24 hours to properly freeze down after being off for 3 days. I was being impatient.

Hi bob,
Still struggling if you can help please;-)
New compressor fitted and has been ok apart from being noisy.
Today the freezer is not freezing properly. Says -18 but turn off and on and shows 3 degrees. Gets down to -18 but again true temp is high after off and on.
Any thoughts as the guy is coming Monday and after a new compressor I’m stressing at more££.
Thanks

It may be over or under charged with refrigerant or the system may have a blockage it is hard to say without being able to test it.

Another update:
He was here for over an hour today, apparently it had a blockage, caused by the old compressor, leaked oil/gunge.
All back and working and once turned on down to temperature within 4 hours like it was when I first got it.

Hi
More likely that the compressor oil has turned acid (common fault when the compressor fails on the RSH1 ) This in turn burns the new compressor out,If it fails again then this will be the most likely cause.which will make it scrap.
