I was asked to look at one of these Fridge freezers. When you pull the lever there is a clunk, the ice falls, but the small hatch above the lever does not open.
I’m assuming a connecting rod or spring has broken/come free, but I was wondering how easy it is to get into it. The facia with the digital display is available as a spare so I’m assuming it can be removed quite easily. Are there some hidden screws, or are there hidden clips I’m bound to break working it out.

Any tips for this would be greatly appreciated.

I had to replace a faulty flap solenoid on this model a while ago.

If I remember it may have 2 screws underneath where the water comes out in the dispenser.

The screws need to be taken out first then just lever of the display surround carefully with a flat screwdriver starting at the bottom then work up the sides.

Go carefully as the display is not one piece but 2 and is joined with 2 screws from behind but it removes in 1 piece.

If no screws are visible underneath where the water comes out of the dispenser then it just levers off.

When you put the display surround back on it just clips on so you have to hit it with the side of your hand around the edges to clip it back on.

    Hope this helps

Thanks for that. I didn’t realise there was a separate solenoid for the flap, probably best to order one rather than have to take apart twice.

The solenoid looked like new not seized but just did not work.

A new solenoid was about £23 plus vat so it may save a return visit.
