My Prima dishwasher (we have no instructions for it) will not start. you can get to choose the cycle, and then press start and close it, but it then goes straight to rinse cycle and beeps continuously. The beep is a short beep which happens once every second or so, without a longer pause. it is continuos. you can hear something trying ot work inside the machine, but it wont do anything else! Please help! Thanks.February 27, 2005 at 11:28 am #127133Alex

May need a bit more information.
Prima is sometimes a “Badge” name for a product unique to the kitchen company, and may be one of several manufacturers.
Take look and see if there is a production number, i.e. pnc 91100000-01
That may point us in the right direction.

Hiya,
This one appears to be a Whirlpool in disguise. There are two models using the model number you gave, the 12 digit model number helps identify the exact model and you can find this on the right hand side of the door when you open it.
If you count the flashes between the pauses on the start button light, post the result here and someone will let you know what the error is.
If it appears to flash continuously with no pause then this is F1 fault and indicates an NTC problem.
Hope this helps.

The beeping starts straight away and the only pause there is is a second or so between beeps – it is relentless! We have to take a cupboard door off to be able to get round and see the 12 digit number, but will do so in a bit and post it asap. thanks. whats a ntc fault?

ParticipantTemperature sensor, or associated wiring, or related control circuitry. Can be awkward.

The 12 digit number from the right hand side is :
330316009345
does that help at all?February 28, 2005 at 6:33 am #127138DentedPorsche

Hiya, that’s the serial number. There should be another 12 digit number before it and it’ll be either 854560015810 or 854560015860. However, the serial number indicates a Whirlpool machine. When it starts beeping, open the door and look at the light by the start button, this should be flashing, count the flashes between pauses. The number of flashes will translate to an error code. Once we have this we can give you an indication of the likely fault.

the number is 854560015810. With regards to the light flashing. it doesn’t really pause, just flashes on and off continually. Thanks.

So is this a problem I can fix myself or do I need to get someone in to do it for us?
Thanks,

Sorry, I think it’s engineer time, it looks like an F1 error which is the NTC.
However, the error codes are only a guide and the fault may lie elsewhere. Probably cheaper in the long run to have it checked out by an engineer rather than throwing parts at it.

Hiya – an update on our dishwasher!! And a request for help again!!! We had an engineer out on Friday morning. He fixed it, by resetting the control panel or something. Sound familiar? he charged us £55 for the ten minutes he was here, a standard call out fee – money well spent to get it to work – but come yesterday (saturday) it starts beeping again! Can we reset it ourselves or are we going to have to pay the man to come out again??? What could be casuing this as we dont want it to break every day!! Any ideas? Thanks!

Press and hold the start button for 10 seconds (ish) and it’ll reset. However, this isn’t a cure. If it’s back to a single flash, you have a problem with the NTC.

I Have the same problem, Starts to pump out, keeps pumping for 4-5 mins then beeps continiously an wash setting goes back to rinse.
Did spot the power light flash 4 times then pause.
Any one have any thoughts?April 5, 2006 at 1:18 pm #127145Dave_Conway

4 flashes or F4 is a no drain error. Check for blockages where the waste hose joins the sink trap (if it does) for a starting point 🙂

Hi Dave
No blockage, put water in machine and it pumps out fine, pump goes on for 4-5 mins then flashes the f4 error code. does it have a float orpressure switch to know when it is empty?
