    Hi

I am new here but very happy to find this site 🙂

I have a zwx1605 washing machine that has stopped working. I press the on/off and the pilot light turns on but the programme buttons do not work.

I have tried to get an error code via start and reset and but as I said no LEDs light up. I checked to see if there is any input voltage on J8-1 but I can’t see any voltage to the user interface board from the control board. (I am an electrician so trying to fix my own cos the wife expects it 🙂
I have checked brushes, door lock etc as I am always reluctant to use the words….it’s the control board!!! but….?

Has anyone got any ideas? Would every sub circuit to the control board have to return a signal to the control board before it activates the user interface? I would expect diagnostic mode to come on even if I had a bad component.

Thanks in advance for any help
    Cheers 🙂

The sw on the control bord is ver. W1A30106 Type P. 451515053

from what you saying it does sound like a control board problem

    just to clear thing up

when you press start do you hear the door lock go clunk
reason I ask is these door lock do fail but if you get no noise at all then its not normally the problem
also you should be able to get access to service mode ( assume you are holding buttons then turn machine on and hold for 4 secs or so )

you could try a long shot it does work on some zanussi machines

disconnect the ribbon cable from board to front display, plug machine in and turn it on for about 5 secs, turn it off again, then reconnect cable. turn back on and see what happen
dont hold a lot of hope on this one but its free so worth a try

as for J8-1 there should be 5v on this with respect to the board ground. but the diag shows that it is also neutral so you cant use earth as a base for this measurement but measure between J8-1 and J8-2
