    ‘Morning All,

    What do you think this could be please?

    Turning the temperature dial from “off” to any temperature causes the oven to cut out. Can repeat with same fault each time.

    I’m finding that after restoring power I can select different functions, however each time I turn the temperature dial the result is the same – power cuts out.

    Does seem like I cleaned it and now it doesn’t work!

    PNC 944 185 704 00 3,5kW

    It has a properly rated cable direct to the consumer unit. Have meter, can test! Searching archives, but any comment appreciated. Thanks.

    Do you mean it trips the rcd on the consumer unit?

    Yes.

    With power on it will let me have the oven light on and some other function switch settings but as soon as I turn the temperature dial from zero up to any temperature setting it cuts out (and trips the relevant RCD at the consumer unit).

    When I reset the RCD the oven powers up fine. Then when I turn the temp dial again it cuts out.

    Just to round this up for future reading I discovered that a short in the element.
