Hi there,
I have a problem that the dishwasher keeps going off. I traced the fault to the on/off switch on one of the set of 3 contacts are not making. If I hold the switch in manually it works. Can I buy a new switch, although it looks complicated to change as linked to door release assembly. I could disconnect the faulty switch wires ( white wires) and join them together to bypass the switch. But this would mean switching off at the plug each time. Any advice? Many thanks. Dosser
Hi there. I see that ukwhitegoods sell the part I am after, the on off power switch which is connected to the door release assembly. How difficult is this to fit. Many thanks. Dosser
Try cleaning around the square plastic button with an old tooth brush, sometimes they get crud which prevents it pushing back enough. If not change the switch, it’s not difficult.
Bear in mind, on some of these switches one set of contacts is a momentary switch so does not appear to be simply open or closed. It only makes as the switch is pressed then opens when the pressure is released. This switch is usually quite reliable. Do not join any wires or you may do serious damage.
many thanks for all your help
I now don’t think the on/off switch is faulty as when all the lights go out and the machine stops, if you tap the front you can hear the relay click on and everything is working again until several minutes later.i cant see any dry joints except the one I soldered a few years back on the heater feed
any help, thanks . Dosser
