ParticipantCould someone please help me with a problem on the above dishwasher?
When a wash programme is selected, the appliance draws water normally, washes for two to four minutes, and then drains again before beeping, and aborting the programme.
There are no error or beep codes sent, so I wondered if the heater was faulty, but it gives a good Ohms resistance reading.I’m wondering if the electronic control module is faulty, or if that would send an error code?
Kind regards,
jonty

unlikely its the heater, surprised no error code flashes…. are you sure there ar no flashing lights?
check it has stopped filling, should stop after about 30 seconds from when the circ pump is started.
You say it draws water normally but these should do a drain and fill sequence for a good 3 minutes before filling and washing.March 14, 2015 at 2:35 pm #425519jontymox

Thanks,
I’ve brought the dishwasher to my workshop, and run it up again.
It drains and fills well, and washes for around three minutes, before draining and aborting the cycle.
When it aborts five beeps are sent, and the two programme lights, (four and five from the left) next to the programme selection button are lit. These two lights incorporate the end of cycle status, number “four” flashes, and number five remains constantly lit.
The small display doesn’t send any message/error code.
Can you, or someone decipher the above, which would be a great help!

I’ve replaced the diverter/valve assembly, and run the m/c.
Unfortunately, the same problem remains.
Wondering if it needs re-programming?

have you wired that thing correctly? it is possible to get the 2 plugs in the wrong way around. was there a sign of leak from it? has been known for water to get on the microswitch and blow the module but its usually on the later types. Certain that is it the problem though.

Good morning,
Wiring connection is fine, (keyed 4 way multi-plug) and no sign of water leakage.
Inspected ecu visually, and it appears fine although could well be the underlying problem.
Not sure whether to order a new ecu, as it’s v expensive and probably non-returnable, but customer wants problem fixing regardless… back to the drawing board.

Good afternoon,
Replaced electronic control module, and all well for around 30 minutes.
Then, wash pump noisy/fails… so suspect this has damaged the original module.
Kind regards,

Renewed the wash pump/motor, and all well apart from water trickling through small lower condenser pipe onto base cover when drying.
Does this suggest a blockage, as I’ve not come across this before?

jeez, someone has spent a lot of money on this thing then…… Bet you wished you walked away from this one. how come the wash pump was alright for the first 3 minutes of running as per original post?
The alt valve may well have a keyed 4 way socket but the 2 separate plugs can be fitted in the wrong positions, I know and I guess you will know how I know that.
Never had the condenser leak other than the usual amount of condensed water which should not be an issue.March 31, 2015 at 8:33 am #425528jontymox

Hello again,
Yes, I’m surprised that the customer has continued with the expensive repairs too.
All fine now… the wash pump originally ran for around 30 minutes, before becoming noisy and breaking down… left to cool down, all well, until failing again after 20-30 minutes.
I suspect the above has been the underlying fault, and damaged the ecu.
Regards,
Jon
