    Hello and thanks in advance to anyone that will help.

    I have an IGNIS washer that suddenly doesn’t work anymore.

    I select a program, push ON but nothing happens, washer doesn’t lock the door nor start…

    I can’t find the model number

    I checked
    1) socket with a lamp, working
    2) different programs, nothing works

    It was working perfectly before, no prior warning.

    I don’t know if it is related but…
    Recently I plugged a lamp that had a faulty cable that caused the house “main switch for plugs” (I don’t know the technical name) to go off.
    However all other appliances are working fine.
    As far as I know that switch works like a fuse…

    It’s a very tired looking AWP011/1. Judging by its state it could be anything TBH. Door lock problems? Main On/off switch? Circuit board?

    Thanks Martin.

    Reading around seems first thing to check in such cases is the door lock as you said.
    The door makes the usual “SNAP” sound and is firmly closed.
    Still, washer won’t lock it.

    Anything I can check with a multimeter?

    Power unplugged first then you can check the on/off push button switch for starters. How much electrical knowledge do you have?

    I have used a multimeter before… that’s all!

    I am about to buy a new washer. Can you recommend any good brand? And what to avoid…

    Bosch still hold out as the best but mid range, not the cheap end.
