Daughters Dishwasher that originally showed an Error 15 message on and off
research on U Tube said tilt the dishwasher to get rid of airlock
Error E23 next message
have pulled uot little white filter and pump moves OK but machine definitely will not drain and theres no sound of pump working
Am I safe to assume the pump has gone caput or is there other tests that can be done
How easy is it to replace the pump ??????????

Access to the pump is clearly shown in the user manual. Carry out that procedure then, if the problem persists, please feel free to call back. 😀

Already checked pump blade moves as per instruction manual
however all started by tripping out electrics and would not drain
then error code 15. Water level too high
which she found someone on UTube suggested was airlock so tilt the machineresult of that was error code 23 which apparently means pump winding resistant
it seems this model simply has a pump not a combined heat pump
is there any way i can manage to confirm its the pump thats faulty before she bites the bullet and orders replacement and i get involved fitting it
it seems logical to me that if the machine wont drain and theres no sound of pump trying to work that its the pump thats faulty but what do you “engineers “think please
she cant afford to call in repair guy or buy a new dishwasher and has 4 kids hence why mum called on to help out
i replaced the pump in my elderly washing machine thanks to similar help on the other forum (the blades on that spun fine but would not drain )

E15 = water in the base tray. Tilting machine would possibly cause water getting into the main circuit board. Creating yet more problems. 🙁
E23 is indeed a drain pump resistance error but I would suggest you check that resistance first before replacing the pump. Resistance levels should read 82 Ohms.

I suggest your daughter call out a local repair company to resolve the issue. Advice on these forums are given on the assumption those seeking it have sufficient electrical knowledge and competence in order to safely repair appliances.

its £45 before they even walk in the door
most times its cheaper to replace the machine assuming you have the money ………….many people simply don’t in these straightened timesI am perfectly capable of replacing parts on equipment just do not have equipment to test resistance ,,,, try being a little more helpful

Sometimes it’s impossible for we engineers to give exact fault diagnosis with seeing an appliance, we can only advise that’s why Martin suggested an engineer to have a look, obviously it will cost her but may cost more if you just through parts at it.

I am trying to find someone to lend me a multimeter
meanwhile it would help if you thought larerally and attempted to be more helpful and think how you would cope in daughters shoes when theres simply no money to throw at engineers who sure as heck will only want to fit high price genuine parts as opposed to generics from whitegoodsthere must be other things that can be checked without needing gizmos

Your comments continue to highlight the fact that you are totally unqualified to be attempting to fix your daughters dishwasher. It is of paramount importance safety procedures are applied and not having a multimeter (gizmo), a basic necessity, prove how ignorance can be a danger both to yourself and those around you you hold so dear.

A multimeter is no good on its own. You also need a 500v insulation tester for essential safety tests. Of course we do it for money but advice on here is given during our own time to try and help

Why is the pump on a dishwasher more difficult / complcated than one on a washing machine?

You could buy one and replace it? Its behind the front panel. Unplug machine first of course!

Here’s the part number you need- 00611332. Make sure you buy it direct from the Siemens website. Just 26quid. (Other suppliers are available but charge a lot more).
