ParticipantGood morning,
Could anyone let me know if there is a test sequence for the above washing machine?
The m/c will fill and briefly wash, before aborting with error E08
This relates to a motor/brush/ecu fault.
The m/c spins fine on fast spin, and is an induction motor, hence, no carbon brushes.
Hope someone can assist.

Well,
I carried out the test procedure… thanks Simon, which confirmed error code E08,(defective tachometric dynamo, wiring or electronic control module!) so visually inspected the motor, tacho, wiring and ecm.
All looked fine, so took a gamble and replaced the motor.
Re-tested on a wash programme, and all well for around 40 minutes until error code E08 returned.
Hence, I’m struggling to diagnose this fault… do these codes need cancelling via the diagnostic link in the ecm, and is there any way of testing the small module below the main ecm?
I’m wary of replacing the ecm, if it is not at fault.

Proved to be a fault in the electronic control unit.
Renewed, and all well.

Hi Jontymox with reference to your hoover e08
When you say electronic control unit do you mean the main board or the little box sitting in front of the main board, any chance of a part number?August 22, 2016 at 4:56 pm #427066jontymox

Yes, main board was faulty.
Will try and locate part number, as it was over a year ago.
