    Hello

My machine’s motor is making a strange knocking noise, at low motor stress loads. It’s like a gentle knock, and is increasing in frequency.

I’ve opened the machine and can’t see anything obvious. I’ve checked for perhaps a stuck item but can’t see anything either.

The noise disappears on spin. It’s not a bearing issue, but perhaps either something in the tub, under the holes OR a carbon brush issue?

    It’s driving me mad!

    Please help.

    Hi
Could be a loose motor mounting bolt.
Heater element has come loose from its holding bracket, the element may be visible through the bottom section of the inner drum holes.

    Other things worth checking
    Pump filter may be clogged
Pump impeller may be loose on its shaft, check for side to side movement in the shaft as well..

    Drum spider support arms
One may have a crack in it…

Lots of things it could be,but narrowing it down may not be easy.
    Let us know your findings

    Martin

Thanks very much. The spider is clear, I checked, as much as I could. Does my machine have a rear access panel to see the motor? From the front its barely possible to see it. I can see the heater element under the drum, it looks straight.

From where can I obtain a ‘take apart’ manual for my machine?

    With best,

How did you check the spider?
