You wiil probably find that the machine has leaked into the undertray and operated the floatswitch. This turns on the drain pump and over-rides the computer. With the power off :plug: drain the undertray to reset the switch. However, you do need to find the source of the leak.

KeymasterHi Fazzer,
If you’re unsure at that stage I would honestly recommend that you get an engineer in to look at the machine. You can try Repairs@ over on the navigation bar or the Directories to find a repairer. If you’ve no luck in either pop your postcode up and I’ll see what I can find for you.

KeymasterWhat’s the model number?
But in essence there’s a baseplate (the names a giveaway ;)) that requires drained possibly. There are other reasons for this to occur but it’s a start.
However, as P says that’s only the start.

Fazzer,
Diplomat have never made a dishwasher in their lives – they are all bought in and badged. Between us we should be able to work out who made it, then we might get nearer to the answer.Regards,

Ok, it’s a SMEG-made dishwasher, which is a bit unfortunate. Normally, faults are indicated by codes being displayed on the screen. If you have a “random” screen, no programming and strange operations taking place, it is more than likely that the computer board has failed.
At this point, you need to get pro help. The computer board will be an expensive component, so it will be in your own interest to have the diagnosis confirmed professionally.
Check repairs@ukwhitegoods.com or Directories for a UKW repairer in your area.

I think fazzer has tried that route P to no avail if it’s the same email I got earlier.
Pop your postcode up please, one of the guys should pick it up hopefully, if not, phone MFI Extracare on 08457 959722 as they will have an agent in your area.
Dave.
