KeymasterHi
We are a boat-building firm and are currently trying to find a washer/dryer combo machine which is only 480mm in one of either depth or width without exceeding the typical ~850mm height. This is because we need to fit the machine through a 485mm wide aluminium door frame.
Does anyone know of a model that meets this requirement? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
many thanks

Greg,
A few years back Baumatic supplied such a product, whilst their website shows only the more conventional sizes they may be able to help you?
http://www.baumatic.co.uk/index.php
Zanussi also made a shallow depth machine a few years back, but today I think they have given up on that idea, not sure 😕

I don`t know of a washer dryer but there is the Bosch WFC246C which is only 400mm deep. 1200 spin and a 9kg load and with a two year guarantee. You`re local independant should be able to help.

Hi
Thanks for your responses. Would matters change any if we were able to squeeze an extra 15mm upto 495mm wide or deep?
Thanks, GregMarch 31, 2005 at 1:52 pm #130403don

There isn`t anything else that I am aware of in that size range I`m afraid.
Any chance of gaining the extra space required? The minimum depth in washer dryers I can find is 580mm by Hotpoint.Don

Hi
Washer dryers are all generally the 60cm square box and 85cm high, Hotpoint make their depth slightly less at 58cm.
The smallest washing machine I can find is the Zanussi ZWC1300W compact wash load of 3KG, which measures Height 61cm X Width 49.5cm X Depth 51.5cm.Don

I had also heard of a slim Zanussi machine but when I saw it I found it was an FL1081, which I would have thought was a full size model. A friend had a very small kitchen and was fitting reduced depth units, worktops etc. If all else fails you may be able to dismantle a new Zanussi and rebuild it inside the boat 😉

Just one more option would be to install a Bosch slimline top loader, granted you would have to “lose” a bit of worktop but the Bosch does have a hinged worktop type outer lid.The controls are on the front like an ordinary front loader.
Details are Bosch WOP2400 Hieght 85cm X Width 45cm X depth 60cm. 4.5kg load 1200 spin typical water consumption 43 litres but is still only a washing machine with no dryer.
Hope this helpsDon
