Sounds like a selector switch problem.
Is that an Electrolux model and, if so, what’s the PNC code from the rating plate?

Oh poo!
And, the top control board is also obsolete as well!
The main power board that controls it all you can get but, it ain’t cheap, about £140 or so.
I’d suspect the power board, one of the relays or something gone probably. But, it’s a bit of a punt.

yeah I have found one £136 but as you say bit expensive if its not that
I am ex tv engineer so would not mind trying to have a look at it(may be a dry joint 🙂 )
any ideas where I might be able to get a service/repair manual for it?
I have just tried quickly on the net but they are all user manuals 🙁
thanksMay 21, 2016 at 11:21 am #437760kwatt

You may want to read this, then you’ll understand why you won’t get that anywhere…

Could be a dry joint issue, dodgy relay or something so if you’re okay with electronic diagnosis and repair it may well be worth a shot, nothing to lose by trying.

Hi just an update
I managed to find a service manual similar to my oven which gave me a rough idea how to dismantle mine.
I had to slide the oven out as far as I could to reveal the top front cover(at the top of the oven). There were six screws holding this in place 2 at the side and 4 on top. Removing this cover revealed two power supplies, one small one and a bigger one in a plastic housing. there were 4 screws securing the plastic housing one of which I could not get at because it was covered by the back front cover(I could not get this cover off without removing the oven from its cupboard completely). luckily the power supply was only retained in the plastic housing by plastic clips which I managed to free. so I now have the power supply free with all wires connected. I did a diagram of where the plugs and leads went and removed the pcb. on inspection there was one small capacitor that looked as if it had been sweating a bit(the plastic sleeve had shrunk and the two pcb joints had got warm.
Luckily at work I have access to capacitors and a solder bench so I replaced the capacitor(10 uF 35vw) and re soldered any solder joints that looked dodgy. I refitted the board loosely and …it worked 😆
I was well chuffed .
kwatt thanks for all your help, and on a side not while looking on line I did find a repair service for my particular power supply which was only £33.49.so anyone not able to repair their own it could be an option -
