Bosch washing machine – won’t turn on

Happy with Bosch as washed well and no problems until recently: found that on a 2nd load of washing it had stopped mid cycle, water was still in the drum and no lights were operational on the control panel.

Emptied water and checked that nothing clogging up filter. Able to open up and found washing was still covered in detergent. Checked that socket was working and checked plug (replaced with new fuse) – neither of these were at fault.

So now I have a washing machine that will not turn on, is this repairable? Or should I be looking for a new machine?

If the latter I only have a budget of £300 and having read some of the articles on this website. I’m confused. Should I go for another Bosch (I had hoped it would last a little longer if this is the end of it)? Or should I go for something like a Zanussi, knowing that it won’t last as long but will be a bit cheaper?!
