    Have a MK6 board on a WMD 960p which does nothing beyond locking the door and sitting silent. Customer says it will flag a spurious error code if left powered up for ages.

    I think this is a common failing on these machines but as it belongs to a penniless old biddy I wondered if anyone knew if there was a specific component on the board which typically causes these symptoms ?

    Certainly cant see anything obvious like a swollen cap or whatever.

    have you checked the drain pump and inlet valve?

    yep, checked all the basic stuff. It’s a fault I’ve seen before on these boards and usually just get one from EMW but that means a £60 bill in parts alone for my elderly customer.
    Trying to keep the cost down for her.
