ParticipantHi All,
So I have my DI612CA that has been unused between 6 months and 1 year (don’t ask). It was full of skum and I had to literally carve the cheese/fungi/mould off of the nested filters (not nice).
Anyway, after cleaning all internals thoroughly and attempting a couple runs I’m getting some weird problems.
On a normal wash it seems to do an initial drain, fills with water and gets hot (actually very hot and seems to run out of water – I get 10 beeps at this stage of observation), and then eventually drains. It never seems to do any spraying. I just tried a short rinse cycle and it seems to do everything fine (fill and drain) but again, no spray.
It looks like the drain pump is used to spray the water during the cycle – as draining is working fine I assume this is more likely a sensor issue. Could there be more scum affecting a float or other level sensor?
My only other theory is that the spray arm is missing a seal and this is casing low pressure in the spray arm.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Chris

OOops. Think I better check this first.

I’m not getting E2 error but guessing it could be not filling fully.

Yep, if that fill chamber matrix is full of crud it’ll do weird stuff.

Better/safer/easier to just replace the matrix?

If it’s gunked up that’s what I’d do, bluntly, life’s too short. 😉

If you mail Dave on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk he’ll advise what one it is if you need it and, probably get you a decent price on it.

Fitted the fill chamber matrix and that hasn’t fixed the problem.
The dish washer goes through this sequence:
– drains and partly fills for a couple mins
– drains
– fills with water
– sounds like its trying to heat (and on longer runs it does get hot)
– then gurgles a lot as if trying to send pressure to the arms. No movement from arms.So looks like its still blocked somewhere. What is the best thing to check/clean next?
Thanks again for help.

Have you checked the record pump impeller housing?

Thanks for quick response K.
Not yet – it is draining fine without any noise! Any instructions on checking the housing?

The record pump is the main wash motor, there’s also the drain pump.
Not really any instructions as such, it’s really just a case of stripping out the underneath to get to them but, releasing the hoses should allow you to see or feel anything major in there causing issue.

Got the circulation pump out and it seems clean – need to remove the housing to check. The hoses to the circulation pump seem clean too. How is the housing removed from the pump? It twists but unclear how much force I should use.
If crud is not the problem in the circulation pump does that suggest the pump is gone or could something else still be blocking somewhere?

Sounds like the pump has had it tbh

Thanks – everything points to that and the cost doesn’t justify the repair. Goodbye dishwasher.
