ParticipantHi,
I have just moved into my first house.
There is a built in Belling Synergie 50/50 double oven which unfortunately was very dirty when I moved in.
After cleaning the inside I noticed that there was a streak of dirt between the two panes of glass and in my wisdom I decided to remove the front piece of glass which propmtly fell on the floor smashing into lots of little pieces.
Can anyone tell me whether it is possible to get a glass front?
I can’t find and serial number on the oven and there is no manual – help please.
thanks Becks

Shouldn’t be a problem (bet Posh was mad with you though eh?) 😀
Give us the full model number and we can sort out the part you need 8)

thank you for the very quick response! 😀
Apologies for being dense but could you suggest where I might find the model number – is it going to be printed on the oven somewhere? 😳

Slight problem – have located stick on oven (where the seal is) but half of said sticker is missing which I presume contains the relevant information.
Is this a terminal problem?

It does contain the information yes but it shouldn’t be terminal.
So far we know that it’s a Synergie, which I assume is a built in double oven, what colour is it ? Are both ovens exactly the same size, which door is broken, upper or lower ?
I’ll try and narrow it down a bit if you can answer those for me but I may be back with more questions afterwards 😉

Yep is a built in double oven.
It has two silver strips down each side and the handle is encased in the glass (or at least would be if there was any glass) which is in the middle.
The doors look to be the same size but will check at home tonight and will confirm.
It is the lower door which is broken
thanks

just had a thought 😮
I could take a picture of it with a digital camera and send this – would that help?

Have just looked on the Belling website and their model number XOU487AL looks exactly like my broken one.
Hope this helps

It really isn’t worth the risk to be honest, if the glass happened to be the wrong one it won’t be returnable and most of them are up around the £50 mark.
