ParticipantOur Bosch WVT1260 washer/dryer is steaming a lot from the drawer when tumble drying. I checked the water inlet pipe to the condenser and it looks like water is coming in. The only filter as far as I know is the water drain filter and I cleaned that. Can anyone help please?

Either the condenser is blocked with fluff or, more commonly, the water is not flowing through it. I’m putting my money on the latter.

Would that probably be a fault with the inlet valve?

Checked water is getting through to the condenser. Maybe its blocked up – does this involve taking the condenser out to clear it out? I have taken off the fan motor and can see some sludge on sides, but hard to see right to the bottom of the condenser.
The fan is spinning ok.

Usually when your getting h2o to the condenser which is good and everything else works it`s a blockage at the bottom of the condenser unit in that short stubby hose at the bottom at the juction with the tank. I wouldn`t if I was you take this off unless you`ve really got to- bit of a bug*er to get back on. Best to disconnect the inlet hose and stick it down the condenser ( where you removed the fan motor ) and shoot some cold h2o through it-if the tank fills up you either had a blockage or it was a wild goose chase to begin with! If the condenser fills up there`s your blockage; only snag is the condenser is now filled with water so see if it will slowly drain itself if not you can syphon out the water from the condenser with a 5 ft of pipe into a bucket if need be otherwise your going to get moist! Power OFF if you attempt this please.

I had a thought I had a flexible grabber with a led on it for my car – I used that to grab the lumps of fluff/sludge – it kept coming for a quite a while – and looks clear now. Fingers crossed thats fixed it.

Still getting steam out of the drawer – is this normal to a certain extent?
The condenser looks clear to the bottom not sure about the pipe to the drum as can’t see that, but if I pour water into the condenser it runs into the drum ok.
Water is coming into the condenser from the inlet valve – whether its enough I don’t know.
Can anyone suggest anything else?
Thank you

Sounds like you have cleaned the condenser sufficiently so it may be the valve is not allowing water through constantly as it should. If the water flow stops and starts due to a faulty valve coil that is a possibility. (Though that would usually show up a programme error code)
You’re going to have to sit and watch what happens throughout the dry cycle. But no, steam from the powder tray is not right.

Water seems to be flowing into the condenser at all times – but will keep checking. Could it be things are getting too hot?
Could the thermostat not be working? When its hot its reading open circuit across the terminals. The thermal cut out is reading closed circuit at the moment.
What sort of temperatures should the ducting get to? I have an infra red measuring device.
Thanks for all your help on this.

Do the inlet valves get scaled up and reduce the water flow?

I notice the metal strap on the inlet valve is getting hot – does this sound like it needs replacing?
