My ADP8242 keeps tripping out the main fuse. I’ve isolated the problem to the dishwasher – but can’t work out why it’s happening. Any solutions gratefully received!

There’s no easy answer I’m afraid Chris as after isolating the issue to the appliance you then have to determine what component within the appliance is actually causing the problem and that can be a chore. If you’re unsure then I’d strongly suggest that you get someone in to look at it for you.

I’d get it checked TBH, it’s liable to be a heater or stat fault I’d imagine so it shouldn’t be that expensive to have fixed and a replacement (same as) will cost you over £350 anyway. It may end up you have to go down that path but it’s worth a punt at a repair in my opinion.
The problem is if you DIY it, you can end up firing in bits at considerable cost and not cure the problem whereas an engineer is most liable to walk in and diagnose the problem in a few minutes. It will cost you to get someone in but you’re paying for the fact that they know what they’re doing. 😉

OK – well I guess an estimate would do no harm. I am in AL2 (Herts). Any recommendations?
