ParticipantHi,
Has anybody come across the jockey pulleys on Hotpoint/Indesit tumble dryers burning out since the customer having the recall. Just this week i’ve been to two. I’m having to go back to another that I went to about a month ago that had had the recall and the wheel had gone. I fitted a new one and today she’s called to say the same thing has happened again.
Its just very strange thats i’ve had a run of them and they have all recently had the back panel fitted.Just curious what could be causing it. I’ve looked and can find nothing.

No I only use the gens. I can tell the difference in quality and for the difference in price it’s not worth it.
To be honest the question was has anybody else been out to these dryers since the recall. I’ve been out to two or three in the last few months and the wheels have gone. The one I went to this week told me they had hotpoint back a week after the recall was done, 2 months ago, and this was the one I replaced again.
I was just wondering if anybody has come across the same.October 19, 2017 at 7:59 am #442897codlets

The new updated pattern parts look pretty robust…

I have just bought a couple of the genuine parts and they look the same as the above image, looks like they have a 608z roller bearing in them now instead of the oilite bush.

Sorry to change the subject but it’s all change again, just been out to a new hotpoint dryer only a couple of months old and its got a spring loaded pulley and an askol drive motor also the front noisy wheels have made a return.
Got some pics if you want to see it.

The pulleys won’t have made a return on this dryer although you don’t give a model number. It will almost certainly be a Whirlpool clone which has always had the drum support pulley wheels on most models.
Not usually much of a problem on Whirlpool dryers TBH.October 22, 2017 at 11:00 am #442901rolf

It’s a Hotpoint, everything is the same apart from the motor and pulley.

I’m afraid I don’t but I could give the customer a call if you’re interested. It was a larger capacity dryer 8-9kg from memory.

Was more interested in it’s age, if it was only a couple of months old how come you where repairing it?

It’s in a children’s daycare centre, classed as commercial.
