Hello All, Has anyone had the same problem with un-reliable heat pumps from the german lot? your lucky if you get 2 years before they blow up, and I’ve had replacements only last weeks.
At £125 its a bit strong plus labour for customers to undertake the repair. 😕
These tales of woe are commonplace and suffered by many. If you use the ‘Search’ box and type heat pump a whole raft of moans and groans are to be seen spanning recent years. Changing these is a risky business as so many factors can come into play once the repair is completed and paid for by the customer. Usage, water leaks in the base, sluggish pumps, water starvation and excess voltage can all lead to premature failure. Giving a 1 year service guarantee and the pain truly kicks in as many only last months as the testamonies show. Bosch, Siemens and Neff dishwashers are a serious financial risk to the sole trader so don’t even think of doing work on the cheap on these heaps of pooh. 🙁
If you work/live in a hard water area then keeping the salt topped up is imperative , even when using all in one products. Its also worth advising the customer to use a dw descale every 6 months or so. Nearly every heat pump that goes open circuit (with a dry base…. ) will have a limescale build up on the inner side of the heater and a burn mark the other side causing the o/c condition.
