ParticipantHi everyone a noobie but handy with a driver and a (photocopier tech).
Above model approx 2 years old and now washes ok but leaves dishes cold and wet so suspect thermostat or element is this an easy job or can I do a diagnostic check first 😥 cheersApril 26, 2017 at 5:48 pm #447163kwatt

Almost for sure the element, it uses this one:

Continuity testing it is the only way to be sure.

when switched on and running get 240v across brown live to heater and 28v to neutral.
Does this mean heater gubbed even thoughnI am getting 30ohms across terminals?April 28, 2017 at 7:43 pm #447170kwatt

I have no clue how you’re measuring that but, using live mains is a very bad and dangerous practice that we cannot condone on here or someone will end up killing themselves!
There’s no call to do it with mains power at all.
Explained here: http://www.wikihow.com/Test-a-Heating-Element
But that open of the stat on it open and, it’s in technical terminology, knackered.

I used a fluke multi meter and am experienced photo copier technician dealing with mains faults on a regular basis so know what I am doing. But I am confused by your reply, what stat? are you saying the nts is knackered?

Yes, if memory serves that safety stat is a one shot one so, if it goes, new element.

sorry still confused I thought the nts monitered the temp and you say new element do you mean heater or nts?

KeymasterRe: Beko DW603
There is a safety stat built into the heater itself or should be, then another thermistor or thermostat depending on the setup to control operating temperature.

From this, just like us, you’ll need to work it out…
