Traced to nts broken wire at hinge where loom bends (bottom door) resoldered insulate and free loom which had attached itself to sticky insulation pad now works fine and loom has a little more movement when door open/closed Cheers thanks for all the info, have a happy wife now.

You also have a happy forum reader! I had been investigating a problem on my DW603 that stopped it filling. the inlet valve tested OK, but there was no supply to it when there should have been. I found your post and tested the green wire end to end (also referring to the circuit diagram that some kind person had posted here) that goes from the valve to the circuit board in the door. Sure enough it was open cicuit exactly where you describe. My repair was the same as yours. The wire had somehow been severed by something sharp including the plastic loom sheath, though not obvious what cut it.
So many thanks for your post and many thanks to the poster who provided the circuit. Not forgetting Whitegoods for providing the forum, although I didn’t need parts this time they will be the first stop the next time I do!
