just replaced the drum bearings on the washing machine….all went fine with no problems until I put the drum back in the housing and tried to refit the rubber seal and clamp ring!

I ended up glueing the rubber seal into the clamp ring, but the clamp bolt is a good inch too short so you can’t start pulling the clamp up. The only way I can see to do it is to buy a 4″ length of M8 studding and use that to replace the original clamp bolt.

    Anyone else done this?

Loads of times. It’ll go back just fine normally if it’s seated correctly. The trick is to put the seal on the backplate.

Watch carefully fro any leaks as if it drips onto the motor you can kiss goodbye to the module and very likely the motor as well. 😉

🙄 I knew there must be a better way! Putting it on the clamp ring and pulling it up with a length of studding worked fine though….no leaks. I was quite impressed with the build quality inside the Servis. Last w/m I did this on was about 5 years ago. It was a Creda condenser washer/drier I think. It was an absolute dog.
