Hi, my trusty old AEG OKO_Lavamat 6100 digitronic washing machine seems to be leaking from underneath the rear left side as you face the machine. Is it likely to be something simple like a loose jubilee clip in that area that I could repair myself if I took the back off, or should I call an engineer? 😕

until you take the top off, run the machine and trace the leak you are not going to know if you can fix it
with leaks it can come from anywhere. the leak could be at the front but run round inside the machine till it drips out the rear. all depends how level your floor isDave

Thank you for your reply Dave. I have taken the back off and can see it is wet underneath a part towards the front of the machine on the rhs looking from the back. I have taken a photograph of it, but can’t see how to upload it 🙁

wow thats an old type of pump
these pumps have a water seal that wears and starts to leak. If its dripping it needs to be replaced

Thanks Dave. Yes, it’s 22 years old! 😛 Just working out whether it’s worth repairing…. Is there much difference in quality or would the no gen part be good enough, and how long should it take an engineer to replace it?

the no gens are not too bad and judging by the price of the gen you could buy about 3 non gens.
also at 22 years old you do not expect another 22 years so if you got 8 years out of a non gen that makes the machine 30Dave
