ParticipantHi UKW!
Hoover Washer dryer WDYN etc.
59 min 40deg wash on small load – 3 shirts
When over, hadn’t spun, still wet, water in drum.
Understand load prob too small/uneven to spin.
Put on 7min spin (as done successfully many times previously)
Again, failed to get up to speed
Then… “POP”!! A loud, electrical type, fuse/component blowing sound, sockets RCD tripped.
Back on, fuse fine, display on, lock light flashing permanently, doesn’t engage, same in any programme, nothing further happens.
Lid off, back off, control/display circuit board out, nothing visibly wrong.
Mains filter seems fine, although small amount of dried (a day later) yellow liquid on bottom.
Back panel covered in fine “soot” inside – but presume belt dust rather than from any smoke? (It’s four years old exactly.)
Something, probably electrical, went pooff when it was trying to run up a spin – sounded just like a lighbulb popping – guessing I need a new one of whatever that component is – any ideas?
Thanks so much

Sounds motor or pcb related to me

Looks like the “pop” was a bit of the ECB PCB blowing off – the components on the other side seem fine but there is a bit of the circuit missing and blackening on the board and the nearby white plastic cover (see photos).
Do you think a straight replacement will fix it or is there a secondary problem?
Thanks again for pointing me at the PCB!

I would say it needs a new motor and pcb not cheap though
