    Good afternoon,

The above single oven’s timer is dead, so no functions working.

I checked the terminal block, and all the associated wiring which is fine, so renewed the timer this morning.

However, the unit remains dead, and I don’t know why.

Is there any way of testing a timer conclusively, or should I suspect a faulty new unit?

Is there power to the timer? Or maybe a connector block loose?

    Hello Martin,

The only live testing I’ve done is from the terminal block, which is fine.

I’ve inspected the terminal block, and all the relevant wiring which are all good.

Need to bring unit back to workshop, and wonder if there is a safe way of powering up the timer with the correct voltage?

I cannot fathom why the timer is dead…

Thermal cut out fitted to that oven – one shot type. Probably in line from the terminal block to the timer / selector switch.
    Hope that helps!

    Steve.

Well, I replaced the suspect new timer, and all was well. (Clock & all oven functions fine.)

However, upon fitting timer permanently it was found to be “dead” again!

Have re-ordered, and hoping for third time lucky……
