I have lost all power to my machine. After checking the fuse in the mains plug, I replaced the on/off power switch. Current is present one pin of the four, when the switch is in the off position., and in two pins of the four when in the on position. The remaining two do not appear to be carrying current. I cannot get hold of a repairers manual and have no idea which way the current is supposed to flow but would expect more action at the switch. I understand that the machijne may have an internal fuse but I have no idea where it is. I am loath to start undoing screws in case springs start popping out . If anyone has any ideas of possible faults , I would be grateful. Secondly, there is a massive spring built into a unit in the back of the control panel.I dont know if it is a door switch, but in any event, when I opened the door before the machine broke, the panel lights were still illuminated, so it clearly doesn’t stop current flow at the on/off switch. This has been going on for a week now. I cannot locate a tradesman, so if anyone has any ideas, I would be really grateful.
    Thank you

Check the door lock microswitch, the bit you’ve labelled “What is this unit for?”.

Thanks for the pointer Kenneth. My concern is that when I used to open the door during a cycle, the machine stopped, but the panel lights always remained on. For instance, you need to open the door to access the controls and the panel needs to be illuminated so that you can set the programme. I’m not getting any panel illumination. Is the door switch likely to be the problem? Not knowing how the current flows from the power switch, I can’t check for continuity further down the line

No, it’s further into the machine in that case then.

Door wiring harness would be a good bet.
