    Hi,

The under-grill oven on my Rangemaster 90 has abruptly gone stone cold despite the fan spinning and the thermostat light operating as expected.

I bought a new element in advance as it’s a pain to get the oven in and out but when I tested the old one the continuity is fine, replaced it anyway and still no heat.

Any advice on the next steps for investigation? Every other part of the range is functioning correctly. TIA.

Test the continuity of the little white toc next to the element terminals

Thanks, I’ll give it a shot tonight and post the findings.

Not had a chance to pull the oven out again yet but I’ll do it tonight. I presume I’m looking for a short circuit or low resistance?

Spoke to rangemaster technical department who advised that if the element has been replaced and the thermostat appears to be functioning correctly then the issue will be with the thermostat/selector switch which come as one unit.

Seems to be relatively straightforward to replace – control panel fascia off, disconnect wiring, LH side panel removed, unclip the probe and disconnect the thermostat and re-install in reverse order. That sound correct? Thanks.
