Our SMEG cooker hood made a bang when I put the lights on and it hasn’t worked since. I have changed the bulbs, changed the fuse, tried a new assembly switch and still doesn’t work. Has anybody got any ideas what may be wrong please?

well something on the circuit has obviously blown

if you had posted a model number I could have looked parts up

what fuse was in the plug? it should have been a 3Amp but most fitters don’t change them leading to this problem when the bulb blows

Did you change the fuse in the plug or spur for the cooker hood – normally above the cupboards or I’ve seen them behind the chimney or the fuse at the spur switch above the work top – if it has one
