    Hello everyone

I have a Whirlpool AWZ 3303 Filter light on and no heat being produced. I took the top cover and rear cover off, removed drum, opened plastic exhaust and removed loads of dense fluff, I also cleaned below removable filter by front door down to motor fan, so am confident filter issue is no longer an issue as all very clean. The filter light remains on constantly and I noticed the heater at the rear is cold – I suspect I may have to replace the heater / thermostat unit to solve this problem, but wanted to know if the filter light is somehow connected to the heat issue and would this light be extinguished when i replace the heater ?

Hope that all makes sense and hope you may be able to help me please – Thank you, Dean.

There are multiple versions of that dryer from 2004 through 2008 so the service number starting 85 is likely needed to offer much of any help.

The filter light just means it can’t detect airflow for whatever reason. I wouldn’t assume the heater was faulty till it was totally cleared internally.

I decided to remove the white plastic flexible hose / exhaust from the rear of the machine to eliminate this – but the filter light still comes on. I have had the drum out and removed the 3 screws to enable me to lift black plastic cover (this has 2 wires going to the air flow sensors inside – I think that’s what they are ?) from motor area to connector at rear – this is the bit where the white plastic flexi hose / exhaust connects to the back of the machine. I can see its all clear and up to where the door filter that lifts out and the airflow seems much stronger than it has been for a very long time. Any ideas pls ?
