    Hello,

I have a Bosch VarioPerfect WAQ243D0GB washing machine and I can’t close the door because the part of the interlock that is visible is in the way. I assume the part should normally be up unless the machine is doing a wash. Is there a way to quickly test whether it is definitely faulty? Is there potentially a way of unlocking it manually? I have a lot of washing up to do so I might just get a new washing machine as getting parts, etc. can be time consuming, just want to check if I am not missing anything obvious.

    Thanks,
    kreutz

it sounds like the door lock is in the closed position when the door is open. provided the lock is not locked you should be able (with the power off ) to get a bit of wire coat hanger with a 5 mm hook on the end and put it in, hook it . and pull it into the unlocked position

cant really tell but looks like something may have snapped. piece in middle is not straight

last time it was used did you have to force the door open ?

I am not sure whether anyone has forced the door open. We have a guest who is staying with us for a month – maybe they are embarrassed to tell us. If the part doesn’t look right then I guess the only way for me to go about this is to replace it? If so – is it generally worthwhile? Would you know any part stores that you could recommend? Many thanks.
