Hi all. Called out to a friends FF48148 which is running all the time. I grabbed the Vestel circuit diagram, surprise surprise nothing like it. I can see on the PCB PL802 which looks like its the sensor i/p
Down in the guts of the freezer I can only see the cabling for the defrost and fan. The spares listing gives a picture of the sensor which terminates in a 2pin connector and is about 20cm cable length.

Is this the correct sensor – and if so where does it hide?! Appreciate any help – my formal qualifications are electronics and normally do the AV equipment / Microwaves and Cookers. Tend not to get involved with these jobs 🙂

Freezers down to -38 and fridge below zero…. yes running 24/7

Most all of them, it’s this one:

The modules go as well but not as common I don’t think.

Thanks K – that’s what I have in my grubby hand from stock, but for the life of me cannot find where it’s located on the appliance. The module heads off to plug / skt in fridge roof, then the only other bits that are accessible are back of freezer cable tied to the defrost heater – am I simply not looking hard enough?

well its not a compressor fault that’s for sure

have you done a resistance test from the board on the sensor ?

From memory the cabling at the pcb end was about 4K7 I unplugged all of the connectors in the freezer and the 4k7 remained. As said, I cannot locate this sensor can only find the bimetal switch and thermal fuse. Began to question my sanity and wondered if it was buried in the foam (was it Hotpoint who did that)

Vestel response ‘The sensor cannot be changed in that model’ 2 years old built in redundancy….

mad isn’t it. All they have to do is build in a spare sensor and leave it unplugged
