I have noticed that the frost free larder part is not keeping cool it is just 15 degrees but the freezer seems good. I have a feeling that this is a compressor issue and therefore a scrapper but I would ask if it is possibly the thermostat?. I can source a replacement and it looks straightforward to fix. Any advice appreciated.
from what I can see from digging around is you have a non frost free freezer so the thermostat is in the fridge. if that is the case your compressor must be running 24/7 which is costing you lots in electric
if all this sounds correct then its time for a new one
Thanks for replying. The freezer does frost and the larder part is frost free. The thermostat is part of the temperature control/light unit in the larder part. Are you saying that a freezer defrost and new thermostat would cure the problem or is it kaput?
I defrosted and tried it again but still the same. I pulled it out and ordered a new one for tomorrow. I do not think it was that old. I have a freezer in the garage that is 25+ years and still running well, just shows you.
