ParticipantHi All
I am trying to replace the main power board on this dishwasher as the old one has been taken out by a broken wire in the door (Dispenser actuator – since repaired), I have tried 2 new power modules, 2 new smart cards and used a display board from another machine but I can not get it to successfully program the machine, my card reader though not used much is a few years old (and still programs other boards okay) and I was wondering if there are any known compatibility issues between the older readers (C00263927) and the new DEA603 (C00307263) module as the rest of the machine tests out as okay.Thank you
Jem

ParticipantHi Jem
I remember reading something about alignment of the connection pads on some dishwaher modules.
On checking further this turmed out to be the DE701 module but it’s worth checking the connection as the pins may be wearing on your old programmer.
I have several workshop programming solutions to use and the latest smartcard programmer but distance is a problem.

ParticipantHi Murv
I have double checked the pin alignment and have tried programming the module out of the machine while holding the programmer in position.
Last night I decided to attach some wires inside the reader so that I could hook up a logic analyzer and see what is going on – it appears to be talking to both the machine and the card but it is the data stream between reader and module that seems to be stopping.
I don’t have any workshop programming solutions as I am not a service agent so the smart card seems to be my only option. I have just bitten the bullet and purchased a new reader so will see if that sorts things out in a few days.
Would you be able to have a look at your reader and tell me what the code and SW version is on the label – I have got a code of: 16200207901 and Sw: 04.08.08 – I suspect that it may be a case of out of date firmware.Thank you

ParticipantHi Jem
My card reader purchased in 2016 part no C00272306
Code: 162002321.00
BL: 01.01.00
FW 01.04.01
SN: 1528500748You may find the Russian ‘skyprog’ an interesting tool. It’s not perfect but will read/write most pre-whirlpool modules.
There is a demo available on the authors site.

ParticipantHi Jem
Just wondering if the new card reader solves the programming problem?

ParticipantHi Murv
Yes it appears to have done so (after the 3rd attempt) but have now found that the machine also has a bad display board so have to replace that as well.
I am looking into using the skyprog software as it may well be a cheaper and more reliable soloution long term.

ParticipantHi Jem
There are several connection options with skyprog. The USB interface is the best option as it is cheap to build and works with more boards than the
BDM or serial interface. The best bit is that you don’t need software as you can dump the old card and load it onto the new(or used) one.Murv…

its a mad situation. in every other branch of electronics the manufacturers provide the software free to users and updates . But in our industry if the board fails through bad workmanship you have to buy the same software you paid for first time all over again

ParticipantHave you tried EMW they have programmed blank Indesit modules for me in the past only charge £10

ParticipantI dump the config file from the old board and use it to program the new/used one (instant results). This method also shows the error history for most flash versions of board

ParticipantI use skyprog (with the USB FT232RL interface) for arcadia boards. Have had mixed success writing the older EVO2 boards but an eeprom programmer has always been 1st choice for sorting them.
