ParticipantIt’s a new one – I’m expecting delivery tomorrow. I’ve called the Belling helpdesk and they’ve told me that it won’t be supplied with legs

ModeratorBelling double built under ovens like most other manufacturers come with brackets which you fix to the side walls of the base units. Hotpoint ones come with legs and adjustable feet for levelling.

Yes the brackets wouldn’t work for me, as the kitchen units on either side of the oven cavity are not as tall as the new oven, and are suspended on legs about 20cm off the floor. If I position the new oven into the old cavity the base will need to sit about 7cm below the base of the existing units (and about 13cm off the floor), so there would be nothing to screw the brackets into on the sides.

Moderatorif the oven goes any lower it will hit the kick strip below the oven. brackets can be screwed left and right at the bottom of the cabinets
also are you replacing like for like. Do you have a single or double cavity oven at the moment ?

ParticipantYes I was planning on cutting away a section of the plinth below the existing oven. The bottom of the cabinets sit about 20cm off the floor – the cabinets are on legs – so there’s nowhere to screw in the brackets as low as I would need them to be.
The existing oven is a single – same width as the new oven, but the new oven is 13cm taller.December 21, 2019 at 6:38 pm #465408electrofix
ModeratorI assume you have a 30amp cooker supply as dual cavity ovens cannot be plugged into a socket

Moderatorwait till you get the cooker and then read manual
the closest I can find quickly is
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/61172/Belling-Bi-70-90-Fp.html?page=31#manual
they suggest 3 fixing methods depending on situation

ModeratorOr you may have to build a plinth for it to stand on 😉
