We have a Zanussi model SL2300/2P fridge freezer (label says type B1740 no. K770403 1721). For the last ten years we have only used it around Christmas for the extra food. This year the freezer is sufficiently cold but the fridge section is scarcely colder than the room it is in. The compressor runs more or less continuously.
Is this likely to be a problem with the thermostat, or something more serious?
No, the SL2300 doesn’t come up in any spares listing I have checked so far either, though you might think Zanussi would have better records. It was bought for a flat I sold in 1982 so doesn’t owe us a lot!
If it’s low on gas or a worn compressor I guess it’s not worth repairing but I will be sorry to see it go.
