Having fitted a new heat pump it now has a strange fault. It fills, washes and heats, but having reached temperature begins to add water until it aborts with check water light on. This doesn’t happen every wash and I’ve only seen it by sitting and watching through several cycles. All connectors seem ok, and it Meggers ok too.
    Any clues?

it has water and knows its full but decides to add more after the heating cycle

whats more its filling ok first time but when it fills again it cant see the reed sw so brings on the check water light

I’m wondering if it could anything wrong with the new heat pump, but don’t see how! The flow sensor doesn’t show as a spare on the Bosch parts list, so can’t replace that in hope. The customer only initially reported “no heat” fault but isn’t sure it wasn’t doing this before.

as far as I know a lot of the sensors are virtual. this is done by measuring the current to the motors

after its filled first time does the water level look ok

assume bars and filters are all clean

Everything appears normal. On the Quick wash cycle it does the main wash, drains, then fills a little, drains a little 3 or 4 times then fills and washes. It’s at this stage that I see water filling the heat exchanger about 1/2 way up then stops with check water light on. It has also added water to the tub. The machine is spotlessly clean, even the heat exchanger/drain section.

Further info. When the machine is almost to the point where the fault occurs I noticed the DRYING light is lit even though it’s actually washing!!

Customer has given up on it! Amazingly it suddenly worked, but every 4th or 5th load it would abort.
