Indesit pump

    My indesit condenser dryer when turned on only makes a sucking noise like pump trying to get water and does this for as long as it’s on it dosent try to spin or dry anyone know what could be broken thanks

    have you got a model and serial no so we know which dryer it is

    try
    unplug and take the lid off
    make sure there are no children around. push the drum to make sure it can turn. dont push it too fast. If yes then plug it in and select a programme. Then push start and at the same time give the drum a gentle push. if it continues to turn leave it for 10 secs or so then open door and see if it heats

    then get back to me and tell me what happened

    The drum turns as I push it then stops and nothing changes

    are any warning lights on like container full ?

    When select a program clean filter/empty water light on but think it’s always done that then when press start it goes off

    we need to know if it full in the reservoir

    take out the water draw and pour a cup of water (no more) slowly in the tray under the draw. then when you turn on you should see the water pumped into the draw

    well it starts getting more technical now

    looks like either a board or a motor fault

    When it stopped working it was smoking a bit if that helps

    if the motor does not start and the heater is still energised then it will smoke till the thermostats cut the heater off.
